Pakistan’s national selection committee has picked its Champions Trophy roster for 2025.
The team will also represent Pakistan in the next Tri-Nation Series. Pakistan will play their first Champions Trophy encounter against New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi. The squad list has been given to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for clearance, with the official announcement due within a few days.
The completed team consists of Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha, Khushdil Shah, Kamran Ghulam, Abrar Ahmed, Sufiyan Maqeem, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah. Tayyab Tahir, Mohammad Hasnain, and Abbas Afridi may also make the cut.
According to reports, in-form batter Khushdil Shah, who impressed in the Bangladesh Premier League, has been named in the team that will replace Saim Ayub.
Shan Masood’s chances of reaching the Champions Trophy team are minimal, while Imam-ul-Haq has a strong case.
