Pakistan and IMF policy discussions will begin on Monday.

Pakistan has rejected IMF plans to hike the gasoline price by an additional Rs10.
The IMF’s plan to implement a carbon price was also rejected, as technical discussions between Pakistan and the IMF concluded. The policy-level discussions will begin on Monday. The IMF has also called for an increase in federal excise charge on automobiles.

On the other side, the International Monetary Fund applauded the Sindh government’s economic success. It has classified the Sindh government’s attainment of most of its economic aims, as well as its performance during the previous eight months, as satisfactory.
