ISLAMABAD (Pasar Pakistan): The Shawwal moon was observed in Lahore, Islamabad, and other areas of the nation on Sunday, prompting the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee to declare that Eidul Fitr will fall on Monday (today).
While zonal and district Ruet-i-Hilal committee meetings were held concurrently at their respective headquarters, the announcement followed a meeting of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee in Islamabad.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad presided over the meeting, which was attended by the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee members and representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Suparco, and the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Following the meeting, Maulana Khabir Azad told a news conference that Eid will be celebrated tomorrow (Monday) because most of the country had testimony of seeing the moon.
