Pakistan and Russia have agreed to develop new steel plants in Karachi.

ISLAMABAD APP – Pakistan and Russia on Tuesday agreed to establish a new steel mill in Karachi aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.

The agreement was achieved at a meeting between Russian Representative Denis Nazaroof and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Haroon Akhtar Khan.

“The primary focus of the discussion was the establishment of new steel mills in Pakistan,” according to a press statement.

The two parties continued to hold comprehensive discussions about Pakistan and Russia’s prospective partnership in establishing a new steel factory in Karachi.

They decided to create a collaborative working group to help develop and implement this effort.

During the discussion, Haroon Akhtar Khan stressed the Prime Minister’s aim for more investment in Pakistan.

He emphasised that now is an excellent moment for foreign investors to invest in Pakistan, stressing that the country has matured into a strong and secure destination for international investment and trade.

Furthermore, the SAPM highlighted the potential for extraordinary collaboration between Pakistan and Russia in the steel industry, which may benefit both countries.

“Pakistan is a secure and thriving hub for investment, and the international community has recognized its potential,” said Mr. Khan.

He also invited all Russian businesses to explore investment possibilities in Pakistan.

The conference was also a crucial step in strengthening bilateral ties and creating new opportunities for cooperative ventures in vital areas such as steel production.
