ISLAMABAD (PASAR) To prevent fraud, the National Cybercrimes Investigation Authority (NCCIA) has released a warning.
The NCCIA claims that as the New Year approaches, phony gift messages and congratulations links are becoming viral.
“Avoid sharing your WhatsApp code with anybody or clicking on any strange links. The warning advises staying safe from scammers and preventing hackers from seeing how happy you are.
IT specialists claim that malware and bogus program files are using links on WhatsApp to offer New Year’s greetings. You will receive a notice asking you to click on the following link in order to acquire these cards.
Experts have also advised against clicking on such links since there is a chance that the phone would be hacked, giving thieves total access to the data, pictures, phone numbers, and bank account information on the mobile device.
