Pakistan Produces 25,516MW of Electricity, a Record Amount.

With 25,516MW produced on Monday, Pakistan generated more energy than any other day in its history.
The Ministry of Energy just provided an update, stating that on August 21, electricity generation shattered all prior records. The highest-ever power generation of 25,516MW was reported on August 21 during 24 hours.

The highest power generation of 25516 MW recorded on 21st Aug, 2023 at 2400 hrs breaking the record of 24600 MW recorded on 18th Aug.
Moreover, highest ever energy in a single day was also recorded on 21st Aug i.e 558.35 GWH, previous record was 555.33 GWH on 8th July,2021.

This generated more electricity than the previous record-holder on August 18 of 24,600MW. In addition, the highest energy ever (558.35GWH), which surpassed the previous record of 555.33GWH set on July 8, was also achieved on August 21.

According to the government, this year’s overall load shedding hours and shortfall were better than those of last year. There were no more than two hours of load shedding in the areas with the greatest recovery. The generation capacity has already added 5,000MW to the system this year, shattering previous records.
