Turkey Government Scholarships, commonly known as Türkiye Scholarships or Turkiye Burslari, are highly coveted opportunity for overseas students. The Turkish government funds these scholarships, which are accessible to students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate levels, as well as research-based scholarships for doctoral degree holders and students working on their dissertations.

To be considered for the 2023 round of Turkey Government Scholarships, all international students (excluding Turkish nationals) must graduate by August 31, 2022. Language fluency is required; applicants must have a C1 level of Turkish proficiency or have completed a one-year Turkish language program during their first year of study.
The application process for Türkiye scholarships consists of five simple steps:
- Create an account on the Turkiye Scholarships application portal.
- Upload required documents, including degrees, transcripts, and identification documents.
- Choose preferred universities and programs.
- Submit a letter of intent explaining program choice, goals, and aspirations.
- Review and make any necessary changes before submitting the application.
Some programs and colleges may need aptitude exams (e.g., SATs, GRE, GMAT) to assess candidates’ potential, while some English-language programs may demand language competence tests (IELTS, TOEFL).
Türkiye Scholarship applications will be accepted from January 10th until February 10th, 2024, with evaluations taking place in March, April, and May. Interviews will take place in June and July, and successful candidates will be notified in August. The school year will begin in September 2024.
Applications for Research Scholarships are accepted all year, with reviews taking place in January, April, July, and October.
