PIA’s direct flight to Paris will take off on January 10, 2025.

LAHORE – There is a lot of excitement at the New Islamabad International Airport, where PIA’s first flight to Europe since the route’s reopening will take off on January 10.

Arrangements are being prepared for a PIA trip to Paris, with a Boeing 777 taking departure from Islamabad International Airport on January 10.
Officials said reservations for the flight began on Saturday (December 7).

Earlier, authorities stated that the PIA was ready to restart direct flights to European destinations early next month.

The judgment came just days after the European Union’s aviation safety body lifted a ban on PIA flights to Europe for failing to comply with its safety criteria.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EUASA) has banned PIA from 2020, following the discovery of a scheme involving phony pilot degrees in the aftermath of a Karachi tragedy.
According to authorities, the prohibition resulted in an approximately $150 million loss for PIA each year.

A few days ago, airline spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez said that the first direct trip from Islamabad to Paris will restart after more than four years.

He stated that EUASA had expressed “complete satisfaction over the safety standards of PIA” and that plans were on to restore PIA flights to other European cities.
