ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is helping the Azerbaijan Air Force improve its operational skills by providing a thorough training program for Azeri air and ground troops at a Pakistani operating facility.
This statement came after a high-level Azerbaijani delegation, including Deputy Defense Minister Agil Gurbanov and Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Namig Islamzade, visited Air Headquarters in Islamabad on December 23, 2024. The group spoke with Pakistan’s Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu about improving training cooperation and bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu underlined Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its military alliance with Azerbaijan. According to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the continuing training program is proceeding well, with more than half of the objectives already met. The effort is scheduled to be completed within a month, demonstrating the PAF’s commitment to improving Azerbaijan’s operational preparedness.
The air chief also underlined the PAF’s progress toward operational excellence in contemporary warfare, highlighting the importance of such alliances in attaining common objectives.
The Azerbaijani delegation praised PAF personnel’s professionalism and swift progress toward establishing a self-sufficient aviation industry. The delegation expressed satisfaction with the training offered to 70 Azeri aircrew and technicians and advocated for further Air Force-to-Air Force engagement.
