Thousands of private schools in Punjab are at risk of losing their connection with education boards owing to registration extension delays.
Qazi Naeem Anjum, the head of Pak Awan-e-Taleem, has urged for an immediate extension of school registrations to avoid interruptions in their affiliation with educational boards.
An important conference was conducted in Lahore on Thursday to discuss topics such as private school registration, revisions to the 9th-grade syllabus, and teacher training for the modified curriculum. Qazi Naeem Anjum, the chairman of Pakistan Education House, presided over the meeting.
Speaking during the conference, Qazi Naeem Anjum emphasized the difficulties that private schools experience in obtaining affiliation owing to the lack of an online registration mechanism.
He said that private schools were supposed to apply for affiliation by December 31 but were unable to do so due to the registration deadline.
He encouraged the School Education Department to speed up the registration procedure to avoid further issues for private schools. Furthermore, he underlined the importance of teacher training on the new curriculum for both private and public school instructors, given the changes in the 9th-grade syllabus.
Qazi Naeem also wanted tax breaks for low-fee private schools operating inside the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) bounds, as well as criticism of school sealing in LDA programs, which he claimed was leading children to lose educational opportunities.
Several significant personalities attended the conference, including Hassan Minhas, General Secretary of Pakistan Awan-e-Taleem, President Sadaqat Lodhi, Faisal Gilani, Mian Yousuf, Mian Fahad Tanveer, Rana Mushtaq, Mian Ijaz, and Shahnaz Hameed.
The delegates emphasized the need of resolving these concerns as soon as possible in order to protect Punjab’s education system and thousands of kids’ futures.
