Pakistan plans to deploy 5G services by June 2025.

Pakistan plans to offer out 5G services statewide by June 2025. The launch timeline was given before parliament, outlining the processes necessary for the 5G spectrum auction, which is scheduled for April.

According to papers from the Ministry of IT and Telecom, the Spectrum Advisory Committee will receive suggestions from National Economic Research Associates (NERA), the consultancy group directing the deployment, next month. These proposals will center on essential issues such as spectrum price, trading circumstances, and taxes.

The federal government is anticipated to accept the policy proposal in April. The spectrum auctions for 3500 MHz, 2600 MHz, 2300 MHz, and 700 MHz will take place in May. Meeting these criteria will enable telecom providers to provide 5G services statewide by mid-2025.

The IT Ministry intends to revolutionize Pakistan’s telecom sector by ensuring high-speed, continuous internet access. This is viewed as an important step in modernizing the country’s digital infrastructure and accelerating economic growth.
