(Reuters) – Microsoft (MSFT.O) revealed on Wednesday that it has built an artificial intelligence model for a videogame that can assist produce images and behaviors.
The model, named Muse, was created in partnership with Ninja Theory, a developer at Xbox Game Studios, Microsoft’s gaming business.
The demand for AI arises as videogame production expenses continue to grow. Due to economic uncertainties, customers have been reluctant to spend money on new games.
“We are already using Muse to develop a real-time playable AI model trained on other first-party games, and we see potential for this work to one day benefit both players and game creators,” said Fatima Kardar, corporate vice president of gaming AI.
