Saudi Arabia and the UAE have announced that Sunday is Eid-ul-Fitr.

Following the confirmation of the Shawwal crescent moon sighting on Saturday night by religious officials in both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday in both countries.

Al Arabiya News reports that Qatar has likewise declared Sunday to be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
In a similar event, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) had said that Monday, March 31, 2025, is most likely to be the day of Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan.

The Shawwal 1446 AH Crescent visibility forecast was released by the research center “based on scientific assessments, astronomical calculations, and modern observational data.”

According to these scientific criteria, there is a very high chance that Pakistan will see the moon on March 30, 2025.

Accordingly, it is anticipated that Ramadan would last for 29 days, and the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr will probably fall on March 31, 2025.

Since the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is in charge of choosing the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will review national testimony and declare Shawwal 1446 AH to have officially begun. The Central Ruet Committee’s ultimate conclusion will be based on both eyewitness reports and local meteorological circumstances at the time of observation, even if scientific evidence strongly favors crescent visibility on March 30, 2025.
