Babar and Afridi return to Pakistan’s T20I squad; no place for Haris Rauf.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has included batting legend Babar Azam and speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi to the T20I team for the forthcoming three-match series against Australia, according to 24NewsHD TV station on Friday.

Following his recovery from a knee injury, Shaheen Shah Afridi was included to the PCB’s 16-man team for next week’s three-match Twenty20 international series against Australia.

The 25-year-old developed a niggle during the T20 Big Bash League in Australia earlier this month, but was cleared after a fitness test.
Selectors have also summoned batting legend Babar Azam for the matches in Lahore on January 29, 31, and February 1.

Despite collecting 20 wickets in the Big Bash League, express speed bowler Haris Rauf was left out.

The Twenty20 World Cup, which begins on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka, will have its team announced next week.

Pakistan’s T20 team includes Salman Ali Agha (captain), Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Faheem Ashraf, Muhammad Wasim Jr., Muhammad Salman Mirza, Abrar Ahmed, Muhammad Nawaz, Usman Tariq, Khawaja Muhammad Nafay, Sahibzada Farhan, and Usman Khan.

The Australian squad will arrive in Pakistan on January 28.
